Welcome to the West Salt Lake Valley Area

The west side of the Salt Lake Valley has historically been a community of the working class. However, recently the area has seen an influx of young professionals and families due to its more affordable nature.

But don’t let that statement fool you…the western valley of Salt Lake has some world-class shopping areas (Jordan Landing, The District), amazing sporting and event venues (The Ice Sheet, Maverick Center, USANA Amphitheater) and many drool-worthy restaurants.

The cities, towns, and neighborhoods that make up the Salt Lake-West area include:

Living in the West Salt Lake Valley Area

As with most cities in Northern Utah, outdoor recreation is never very far away. The famous Great Salt Lake is just minutes from the western valley. Boating, water skiing, biking, hiking and fishing are all at your fingertips.

Kennecott Copper Mine is located in the west valley of Salt Lake City. This mine is the largest open pit copper mine in the world and has been a major fixture here for more than a century.

The western valley of Salt Lake is one of the most diverse areas in Northern Utah and housing here ranges from small brick bungalows to mid-size family homes to large luxury homes. The recent development and revitalization projects in this area, along with more affordable housing and the stellar school system, add to its desirability.
